GENERALS RECAP: – Andrew Carraway retired 20 straight batters from the first to the seventh inning and won his second start of the season. Jackson (4-1) took the
opener from the Smokies, 5-1 on the road in Kodak, TN on Tuesday night. Generals pitching retired 25 consecutive and 26 of the final 28 Tennessee batters in the win. The 5-1 record to start the season matches the 2005 Diamond Jaxx as the best start in franchise history. Rich Poythress was 3-for-4 with a run and RBI to pace the 11-hit offensive attack for Jackson. Johermyn Chavez and Denny Almonte ended the night 2-for-4 at the dish. Carraway surrendered one run on two hits in seven innings, while walking none and striking out four. Steven Hensley tossed 1 1/3 scoreless and Brian Moran added 2/3 scoreless relief.
