TODAY’S GAME:After a day off on Tuesday, the Generals begin a 5-game road series in Montgomery tonight at 7:05. The Generals and Biscuits are meeting for the first time this season and will play 21 times this season, including 13 at Riverwalk Stadium.

Francisco Martinez hit game winning HR on Monday in game 2 of double-header

GENERALS RECAP:  The Generals split a double-header with Mobile on Monday afternoon, dropping game 1, 2-1 and winning game 2 on a Francsico Martinez walkoff 2-run home run in the bottom of the 7th, 4-2. The Generals won the series, taking 4 of the 5 games. In game 1, starter Brandon Maurer (5.1,6,2,2,2,6,HR), recorded his first loss of the season, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits in 5.1 innings. LF Chris Pettit (3×4, 2B) led the team with 3 hits, while 3B Eric Campbell (2×2, 2 BB) picked up the only other multi-hit game for Jackson. RH Taijuan Walker (5.0,4,2,2,1,6) started game 2, but recorded a no decision, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits in 5.0 innings. He allowed the first 2 batters faced in the 6th inning to reach base before being pulled from the game. Reliever Brian Moran (0.0,1,0,0,0,0) allowed a 2-run double to the only batter he faced. 3B Francisco Martinez led the team going 2×4, 2 runs scored, 1 home run 3 RBI.

TOPS IN THE LEAGUE: The Generals have the best record in the Southern League, 27-18 and also lead the league with a 2.77 ERA. The next closest to Jackson is Mississippi with a 3.33 ERA
