TODAY’S GAME: Tonight the Generals play game 4 of the 5-game series in Mobile with Jackson leading the series 2-1. Jackson is in the midst of playing 16 games in 15 days (6-3). On the current road trip to Mobile (2-1) and Chattanooga the Generals are 2-1. The Generals are 2 games back of Chattanooga in the SL North second half standings with 12 games remaining in the regular season.
GENERALS RECAP: – DH Chih-Hsien Chiang (pictured right, Michelle Gachett) hit a 2-run double in the top of the 9th inning to break at 5-5 tie as Jackson defeated Mobile 7-5 on Tuesday night. The Generals had 8 players record at least 1 hit, while 7 had multi-hit contests. 3B Nate Tenbrink (2×5, R), SS Brad Miller (2×4, BB), 1B Rich Poythress (2×4, R, BB), C Mike Zunino (2×3, 2 R, 2B, 2 BB), DH Chih-Hsien Chiang (2×5, 2B, 3 RBI), RF Johermyn Chavez (2×5, R, RBI) and 2B Leury Bonilla (2×5) each recorded 2 of the Generals 15 hits. Starter James Gillheeney (5.1,8,3,3,2,4) allowed 3 runs on 8 hits in 5.1 innings, but didn’t figure into the decision. RH Forrest Snow (1.0,2,1,1,2,3) earned his 4th win, despite allowing the tying run to score in the bottom of the 8th. RH Logan Bawcom (1.0,0,0,0,1,1) walked 1 and struck out 1 in a scoreless 9th to earn the save.

The video featuring Felix’s brother Moises has been aired on MLB.com, MLB Network, ESPN Sports Center and Yahoo Sports today. As of 3:30 this afternoon it had 96,260 views on YouTube.
VIVA LA ROMERO: INF Stefen Romero had his 13-game hitting streak end Saturday, but he has hit safely 39 of 47 games (w/AB) with 21 multi-hit games with Jackson since his promotion, batting .339 (62×183) with 32 runs scored, 14 doubles, 4 triple, 9 home runs and 40 RBI. Romero has hit safely in 7 of his last 8 games, batting .383 (13×34) with 6 runs scored, 4 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run and 8 RBI.
MAURER POWER: RH Brandon Maurer ranks 3rd in the Southern League with a 3.20 ERA. He also leads the Generals in wins (9), strikeouts (117) and innings pitched (137.1). Since June 1 he is 7-1 with a 2.50 ERA (24 ER, 86.1 IP) with 10 qualitiy starts in 14 starts. During this stretch has lowered his season ERA from 4.38 to 3.20.
