TODAY’S GAME: The Generals continue their 10-game road trip tonight with game 2 of a 5-game series against the Chattanooga Lookouts at AT&T Field.. Jackson is in the midst of playing 16 games in 15 days (7-5). On the current road trip to Mobile (2-3) and Chattanooga (1-0) the Generals are 3-3. The Generals are 2 games back of Chattanooga in the SL North second half standings with 9 games remaining in the regular season.
GENERALS RECAP: – Despite being out-hit 10-3 the Generals defeated Chattanooga 2-1 on Friday night. All 10 hits for Chattanooga were singles.SS Brad Miller (2×2, 2B, RBI) recorded 2 of Jackson’s 3 hits on and had a RBI double in the top of the first inning, scoring Francisco Martinez who walked to open the game. Jackson extended their lead to 2-0 in the top of the 4th inning on a solo home run to leftcenter by RF Johermyn Chavez (1×4, R, HR, RBI). It was Chavez’ 7th home run of the season. Starter Forrest Snow (4.0,4,0,0,0,4) allowed 4 hits and struck out 4 in 4.0 scoreless innings. RH Moises Hernandez (2.0,1,1,1,1,1) allowed a run in the bottom of the 6th inning, while RH Yoervis Medina (2.0,3,0,0,1,2) and RH Logan Bawcom (1.0,1,0,0,0,0) combined to hold the Lookouts scoreless over the final 3.0 innings. Medina earned his 4th win with 2.0 scoreless innings, while Bawcom earned the save in his first appearance vs. his former team .It was his 4th save with Jackson and 17th overall in the Southern League.
PAX ON THE MOUND: In 8 starts since returning from DL on July 3, LH James Paxton is 5-1 with a 1.80 ERA (14 ER, 70.0 IP). He has limited opponents to a .258 (48×186) average, while walking 16 and striking out 47.

The video featuring Felix’s brother Moises has been aired on MLB.com, MLB Network, ESPN Sports Center and Yahoo Sports today. As of 2:45 this afternoon it had 97,342 views on YouTube.
VIVA LA ROMERO: INF Stefen Romero had his 13-game hitting streak end Saturday, but he has hit safely 39 of 47 games (w/AB) with 21 multi-hit games with Jackson since his promotion, batting .339 (62×183) with 32 runs scored, 14 doubles, 4 triple, 9 home runs and 40 RBI. Romero has hit safely in 7 of his last 8 games, batting .383 (13×34) with 6 runs scored, 4 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run and 8 RBI.
MAURER POWER: RH Brandon Maurer has been shut down for the season, but ranks 4th in the Southern League with a 3.20 ERA. He also leads the Generals in wins (9), strikeouts (117) and innings pitched (137.1). Since June 1 he is 7-1 with a 2.50 ERA (24 ER, 86.1 IP) with 10 qualitiy starts in 14 starts. During this stretch has lowered his season ERA from 4.38 to 3.20. In 8 starts since returning from DL on July 3,
“KISS IT GOODBYE”: Over the course of the last 39 games, the Generals have hit 38 home runs, including 11 multi-homer games. The Generals lead the league with 106 homers this season. Jacksonville is 2nd in the league with 100 home runs.
RECORD SETTING PACE: The Generals 75 wins is the fastest to that mark since 2005. The Generals are 4 games off the pace off of the 2005 Diamond Jaxx that won 83 games and 5 off the pace of the 1999 Diamond Jaxx that won a record 84 games.
