GENERALS RECAP: – The Generals were limited to only 3 hits as Jackson lost to Chattanooga 1-4 on Tuesday night. Jackson dropped to 4 games back in the division with 5 games left in the regular season. RH Johermyn Chavez hit his 8th home run of the season, a solo blast to lead off the 8th inning, to break up the shutout. Starter Taijuan Walker (6.0,5,4,4,1,6,HR) recorded his 9th loss of the season, allowing 4 runs on 5 this in 6.0 innings. Relievers Forrest Snow (1.0,0,0,0,1,1) and Mauricio Robles (1.0,0,0,0,0,1) combined to hold the Lookouts scoreless over the final 2.0 innings in relief. Each organization is required to assign six of their most promising Major League prospects to the league. The roster includes 2012 Generals pitchers Logan Bawcom, Bobby LaFromboise and James Paxton. They will join position players Stefen Romero, Mike Zunino and Nick Franklin. They will join pitcher Carson Smith and infielder Vinnie Catricala, and. Romero is listed as a “taxi squad” member, which means he is only activated only on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Generals pitching coach Lance Painter will serve as Pitching Coach for the Peoria Javelinas.
VIVA LA ROMERO: INF Stefen Romero has hit safely in 17 of his last 18 games with 6 multi-hit efforts, batting .333 (24×72) with 15 runs scored, 2 doubles, 2 triples, 5 home runs and 10 RBI. Romero has also hit safely 43 of 51 games (w/AB) with 21 multihit games with Jackson since his promotion, batting .330 (67×203) with 35 runs scored, 14 doubles, 4 triple, 10 home runs and 42 RBI.
