TODAY’S GAME: the Generals begin a 5-game home series tonight with game #1 of the series against the Huntsville Stars…the Generals are 4-4 against the Stars this season and 1-2 at The Ballpark in Jackson against the Brewers AA affiliate…the Generals have won 3 of 4 series’ coming in and are 5-3 since the All-Star break… 25-year-old LHP James Gillheeney starts the series opener tonigh…this is his 106th career start and 3rd against Huntsville. Gillheeney made 2 starts in 2011 against HVL and was 0-1 with a 10.80 ERA.
GENERALS RECAP: The Generals scored 3 runs over the 3rd and 4th innings, but allowed 5 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning as Jackson lost to Chattanooga 5-8 on Saturday. RF Julio Morban (1×3, 2 R, 2B, BB), 3B Ramon Morla (1×4, R, 2B), DH Daniel Paolini (1×3, R, RBI, BB) and C Michael Dowd (1×3, 2B, RBI) each recorded 1 of the Generals 5 hits. Starter Trevor Miller (4.0,4,6,5,6,3) recorded his first AA loss, allowing 6 runs (5 ER) on 4 hits over 4.0. LH Kyle Hunter (1.0,2,2,1,1,2) allowed a run in the 5th inning, while RH Stephen Kohlscheen (2.0,1,0,0,0,3) and RH Dominic Leone (1.0,1,0,0,0,1) combined to hold the Lookouts scoreless over the final 3.0 innings.
