TODAY’S GAME: The Generals continue their 5-game series tonight at Pringles Park against the Huntsville Stars. The Generals lead Huntsville and Birmingham by 3 games in the North division standings entering play today. The Generals lead the season series over the Stars, 4-2.

GENERALS RECAP:  The Generals returned to Pringles Park and routed the Huntsville Stars, 9-0 to up their lead in the division back to 3 games on Sunday. Jackson pitchers Andrew Carraway (5.2,4,0,0,1,5), LH Brian Moran (1.1,0,0,0,0,2) and RH Moises Hernandez (2.0,1,0,0,0,0) combined for the teams 4th shutout of the season. Carraway earned his 4th win of the season and currently leads all Mariners farmhands in wins. 2B Eric Campbell (3×4, 3 R, HR, 2 RBI) and DH Joe Dunigan (2×4, 2 R, 2B, 2 RBI) each recorded multi-hit and RBI games, while LF Chris Pettit (1×3, 2 RBI) knocked in 2 runs. 3B Francisco Martinez stole his team-leading 11 stolen base of the season. He not only leads all Mariners Minor Leaguers in steals, but also ranks 1st in the Southern League.

WHO’S HOT?: In his last 14 games, SS Nick Frankin is batting .352 (19×54) with 8 runs scored, 4 doubles, 1 home run and 7 RBI. Since April 19, he has raised his season average from .236 to .300. After allowing 2 runs in his 2nd relief appearance on April 8.
– LH Bobby LaFromboise has not allowed a run in his last 12.2 innings. During this stretch he limited opponents to a .167 average (7×42) while walking 2 and striking out 15. LaFromboise has lowered his ERA from 7.71 to 1.20 in his last 7 relief appearances.
– OF Joe Dunigan has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games, batting .372 (16×43) with 10 runs scored, 4 doubles, 2 home runs and 8 RBI.

PRYOR PROMOTED: RH Stephen Pryor was promoted to Tacoma today from AA Jackson, while LH Mauricio Robles has been transferred to Jackson. Since allowing 2 runs in his 1st outing of the season on April 5, Pryor has tossed 15.0 scoreless innings and has gone is 7-for-7 in save oppertunities. During this stretch he limited opponents to a .098 (5×51) while walking 4 and striking out 23. Overall this season he is 1-0 with 7 saves and a 1.13 ERA (2 ER, 16.0 IP) in 11 relief appearances.

FRANCISCO AT THE TOP: Leadoff man Francisco Martinez has hit safely in 11 of his last 14 games, batting .339 (19×56) with 10 runs scored, 4 doubles, 1 triple and 6 RBI.

LIMONTA TO BECOME U.S. CITIZEN: Former Jackson outfielder Johan Limonta is leaving Triple-A Tacoma for two days to attend a naturalization hearing to become a U.S. citizen in Miami, FL. Limonta defected from Cuba in 2004, enrolled at Miami Dade Community College and played one season before being drafted by Seattle. Limonta is expected to return to Tacoma for Wednesday’s game.

IN A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN: The Generals pitching staff has struck out a league-best 263 batters so far this season and also lead the league with a 2.32 ERA. Mobile ranks second in the league with a 3.39 ERA. RH Taijuan Walker (1.30) ranks 1st in the league in ERA, Danny Hultzen (2.35) ranks 6th, James Paxton (2.51) ranks 7th and Andrew Carraway (2.61) ranks 8th.
