TODAY’S GAME: The Generals, currently on a 3-game win streak begin their final road trip of the season tonight at Mobile, with game one of a 5-game series. The 10-game road trip will take the Generals to Chattanooga as well. Jackson is in the midst of playing 16 games in 15 days (4-2). The Generals remain 3 games back of Chattanooga in the SL North second half standings.
GENERALS RECAP: – DH Francsico Martinez hit a 1-out walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th inning to score Chih-Hsien Chiang (1×4, R) to lead Jackson to a 3-2 over Mississippi on Saturday night. Starter Taijuan Walker (pictured right, Roger Peterson) (8.0,6,2,2,3,3) allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in a season-high 8.0 innings, but didn’t figure into the decision. It was Walker’s longest outing since tossing a 9.0 inning complete game on July 13, 2011 with Single-A Clinton. Relievers Mauricio Robles (1.0,1,0,0,0,2) and Forrest Snow (1.0,0,0,0,0,1) combined to hold the M-Braves scoreless over the final 2.0 innings. Snow recorded his 3rd win with Jackson, striking out 1 in a 1-2-3 10th inning. DH Francisco Martinez (2×5, RBI) and RF Johermyn Chavez (2×4) each recorded 2 of Jackson’s 9 hits. C Mike Zunino (1×4, R, HR, RBI) hit his 1st Double-A home run with a solo shot with 2 outs in the 2nd inning.
FOR STARTERS: In 8 starts since returning from DL on July 3, LH James Paxton is 4-1 with a 2.45 ERA (12 ER, 44.0 IP). He has limited opponents to a .253 (41×162) average, while walking 14 and striking out 41.
OF NOTE: INF Nate Tenbrink has hit safely in each of his last 4 games, batting .368 (7×19) with 4 runs scored, 1 triple, 1 home run

VIRAL VIDEO: During Wednesday’s perfect game pitched by Felix Hernandez in Seattle, a video of the Generals reaction during batting practice has gone viral. The video featuring Felix’s brother Moises has been aired on MLB.com, MLB Network, ESPN Sports Center and Yahoo Sports today. As of 12:30 this afternoon it had 90,999 views on YouTube.
VIVA LA ROMERO: INF Stefen Romero had his 13-game hitting streak end yesterday, but he has hit safely 39 of 47 games (w/AB) with 21 multi-hit games with Jackson since his promotion, batting .339 (62×183) with 32 runs scored, 14 doubles, 4 triple, 9 home runs and 40 RBI. Romero has hit safely in 7 of his last 8 games, batting .383 (13×34) with 6 runs scored, 4 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run and 8 RBI.
MAURER POWER: RH Brandon Maurer ranks 3rd in the Southern League with a 3.20 ERA. He also leads the Generals in wins (9), strikeouts (117) and innings pitched (137.1). Since June 1 he is 7-1 with a 2.50 ERA (24 ER, 86.1 IP) with 10 qualitiy starts in 14 starts. During this stretch has lowered his season ERA from 4.38 to 3.20. In 8 starts since returning from DL on July 3.
“KISS IT GOODBYE”: Over the course of the last 33 games, the Generals have hit 32 home runs, including 9 multi-homer games. The Generals lead the league with 100 homers this season. Mobile is 2nd in the league with 91 home runs.
