TODAY’S GAME: The Generals (8-11) and Pensacola Blue Wahoos (8-9) play the rubber match (2-2) of the five-game series this morning at The Ballpark in Jackson. The Generals are now 5-4 at home this season, 2-2 during day games and 10-9 all-time against the Reds’ Double-A affiliate. 25-year-old lefty James Gillheeney starts for Jackson and ranks third in the SL with a 1.10 ERA in his first three starts. This is his 91st career start and first career start against Pensacola.

YOU ALREADY KNOW…that the Generals improved to 2-2 in extra inning games with the win in the 13th last night. But, DID YOU KNOW?…that the Generals’ 14 hits last night was the most during a single game thus far in 2013.

GENERALS RECAP: RF Abraham Almonte (1×5, RBI, BB) delivered a walk-off single scoring SS Brad Miller (1×6, R, 2B) in the 13th inning as Jackson defeated Pensacola 2-1 on Tuesday night. Starter Chance Ruffin (7.0,4,1,1,2,6,HR) allowed 1 run (a solo home run) on 4 hits and struck out 6 in 7.0 innings, but didn’t figure into the decision. Relievers Jonathan Arias (2.0,0,0,0,1,2), Tyler Burgoon (2.0,1,0,0,1,4) and Nick Hill (2.0,0,0,0,0,1) combined to toss 6.0 innings in relief. Hill recorded his 1st win of the season after retiring the final 6 batters in a row. DH James Jones (3×6), 3B Jack Marder (2×5, R, 3B), C Brandon Bantz (2×5) and CF Francisco Martinez (2×6) each recorded multi-hit games for Jackson.

WHO’S HOT: RHP Taijuan Walker has not allowed an earned run in his last 3 starts (4 R), loweing his season ERA from 7.20 to 1.64. Overall this season, he is 1-2 with a 1.64 ERA (4 ER, 22.0 IP) in 4 starts. He has limited opponents to a .165 (13×79) average, while walking 14 and striking out 25.
