TODAY’S GAME: Tonight is the rubber match of the 5-game series against the Mobile BayBears with the series tied 2-2. Jackson is in the midst of playing 16 games in 15 days (6-4). On the current road trip to Mobile (2-2) and Chattanooga the Generals are 2-2. The Generals are 3 games back of Chattanooga in the SL North second half standings with 11 games remaining in the regular season.
GENERALS RECAP: – Mobile scored 6 runs in the first 3 innings and defeated Jackson 9-3 on Wednesday night. The Mobile win evened the series at 2-2 forcing the rubber match of the series on Thursday night. Jackson now trails Chattanooga by 3.0 games in the division with 11 games remaining in the regular season. C Jesus Sucre (2×4, R) and CF Denny Almonte (2×4) combined for 4 of the Generals 7 hits, while SS Brad Miller (1×3, 2B, RBI, 2 BB), RF Chih-Hsien Chiang (0x3, SF, RBI) and DH Johermyn Chavez (1×3, RBI, BB) each recorded 1 RBI. Starter Steve Garrison (5.0,10,7,6,4,0) recorded the loss, allowing 7 runs (6 ER) on 10 hits in 5.0 innings. RH Moises Hernandez (1.0,1,2,2,1,0,HR) allowed 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th innings, while LH Mauricio Robles (2.0,0,0,0,0,2) struck out 2 in 2.0 perfect innings in relief.

The video featuring Felix’s brother Moises has been aired on MLB.com, MLB Network, ESPN Sports Center and Yahoo Sports today. As of 2:30 this afternoon it had 96,827 views on YouTube.
VIVA LA ROMERO: INF Stefen Romero had his 13-game hitting streak end Saturday, but he has hit safely 39 of 47 games (w/AB) with 21 multi-hit games with Jackson since his promotion, batting .339 (62×183) with 32 runs scored, 14 doubles, 4 triple, 9 home runs and 40 RBI. Romero has hit safely in 7 of his last 8 games, batting .383 (13×34) with 6 runs scored, 4 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run and 8 RBI.
MAURER POWER: RH Brandon Maurer ranks 3rd in the Southern League with a 3.20 ERA. He also leads the Generals in wins (9), strikeouts (117) and innings pitched (137.1). Since June 1 he is 7-1 with a 2.50 ERA (24 ER, 86.1 IP) with 10 qualitiy starts in 14 starts. During this stretch has lowered his season ERA from 4.38 to 3.20. “KISS IT GOODBYE”: Over the course of the last 37 games, the Generals have hit 36 home runs, including 11 multi-homer games. The Generals lead the league with 104 homers this season. Mobile is 2nd in the league with 93 home runs.
