TODAY’S GAME:
• The Generals continue a 5-game series and homestand tonight against Huntsville (0-1)…dropped 6 of 10 on recent road trip to Jacksonville and Mobile…have dropped 8 straight series’ after winning the first 3 of the year.

GENERALS RECAP:
• The Generals scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to tie the score 2-2, but allowed 5 runs in the top of the 7th as Jackson
lost to Huntsville 7-3 on Saturday night.
• RF Dan Paolini (2×4) and CF Jamal Austin (1×4, R, 3B) each led the team with 2 hits, while SS Ketel Marte (1×5), DH Dario Pizzano (1×2, 2 BB), C Mike Dowd (1×3, R) and 2B Nate Melendres (1×4) each recorded 1 of the Generals 8 hits.
• Starter Tyler Olson (5.0,6,2,2,1,4) allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 5.0 innings, but did not factor into the decision. RH Richard Vargas
(1.1,4,5,5,2,1) recorded his 1st loss of the season, allowing 5 runs in the 7th inning. LH Kyle Hunter (2.2,3,0,0,2,2) held the Stars
scoreless over the final 2.2 innings.

ODDS AND ENDS:
• SS Ketel Marte currently has a 7-game hit streak, batting .333 (10×30) with 4 runs scored, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 4 RBI and 1 stolen base. Marte hit safely in 20 of 26 games in May, batting .291 (32×110) with 12 runs scored, 9
doubles, 2 triple, 11 RBI, 3 walks and 8 stolen bases.

• RH Stephen Kohlscheen has not allowed an earned run in 15 of his 19 relief appearances this season, going 1-1 with 4 saves and a 1.33 ERA (4 ER, 27.0 IP). He has limited opponents to a .233 (24×103) average, while walking 3 and striking out 29.
• C Mike Dowd has hit safely in 11 of his last 13 games with 3 multi-hit contests, batting .326 (14×43) with 6 runs scored, 1 double, 1 triple, 1 home run, 4 RBI, 4 walks and 1 stolen base.

THE MONTH OF MAY COMES TO AN END:
• The Generals were 9-20 during the month of May and suffered the franchise’s first 20-loss month since June, 2007.
• Jackson batted .252, scoring 122 runs and hitting 16 home runs. The pitching staff posted a 4.49 ERA, giving up 24 home runs and opponents hit .280 against them.

KIVLEHAN SETTLING IN AND ON TOP OF ORGANIZATION:
