GENERALS RECAP: The Generals hung on for a 5-4 victory Tuesday night in Chattanooga, winning the series. The Generals magic number to win the division is now 9. The Generals struck early taking advantage of three free passes by Chattanooga starter and No. 2 Dodgers prospect Allen Webster. Jackson scored in the 2nd inning on an RBI groundout by RF Chih-Hsien Chiang and led 1-0. Jackson made it 3-1 in the 4th on an RBI single from DH Joe Dunigan and another RBI groundout from Chiang. 2B Leury Bonilla and Chiang produced RBI doubles for Jackson in the top of the 7th, extending the lead to 5-1.The Lookouts trimmed the lead to 5-3 in the bottom of the 7th with 2 runs. In the ninth, RH Carter Capps struck out the side, but did walk a batter and surrendered a run on a single by Luis Nunez. Capps struck out 5 in 2.0 innings for the save, including the final batter, Blake Smith with the tying run at second base. Jackson starter RH Taylor Stanton(1-1) earned his first AA win of the season allowing 1 run on 5 hits over 5.2 innings. In the 9th, 3B Francisco Martinez (1×4, R) singled against Stephen Ames to break up the no hitter. Francisco Martinez has 21 stolen bases and now a season long 8-game hit streak

GENERALS RECAP: The Generals won their third straight in the opener at Chattanooga on Saturday night, 6-5. The Generals maintain their 3 ½ game lead in the division with 14 games to play. Each team scored runs in the first. Kalian Sams brought home Denny Almonte and Jesus Sucre with a 2-out double and Jackson took a 2-0 advantage. In the bottom of the first, Luis Nunez doubled in Nick Buss to trim the Jackson lead to 2-1. Chattanooga took their first lead of the game in the bottom of the fourth on a 3-run homer by Kyle Russell against Taijuan Walker. The homer made it 4-2 Lookouts. Nick Franklin broke an 0-for-10 with his first home run since April 20th in the top of the seventh, a 3-run shot giving Jackson back the lead at 5-4. Against reliever Moises Hernandez in the bottom of the seventh Chattanooga got another RBI from Luis Nunez and tied the game at 5-5. In the ninth, Francisco Martinez scored after Jesus Sucre reached on a dropped third strike. The wild pitch by Logan Bawcom scored Martinez and gave Jackson a 6-5 advantage. Generals’ starter Taijuan Walker did not factor in the decision, but struck out a season high nine batters and matched a season best with six innings pitched. Walker walked four and allowed four runs on three hits. Moises Hernandez (3-0) allowed a run in two innings and picked up the win. Bobby LaFromboise struck out two in the bottom of the ninth and earned his second save. Nick Franklin, Denny Almonte, Jesus Sucre and Kalian Sams recorded two hits each in the Generals win.

GENERALS RECAP: The Generals swept the doubleheader with the Blue Wahoos on Friday night at Pringles Park, taking game one, 6-1 and game two, 2-1 in 10 innings. The Generals won 4 of the 5 games in the series and are 11 games above .500 for the first time in 2012. Starter Brandon Maurer tossed a 7.0-inning complete game allowing 1 run over 7.0 innings as Jackson defeated Pensacola 6-1 in game 1. Maurer (7.0,4,1,1,2,5) allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 7.0 innings to record his 3rd win of the season. The Generals scored 5 runs in the bottom of the first inning, including a 2-out 2-run home run by DH Kalian Sams (2×3, R, HR, 2 RBI). C Jesus Sucre (4×4, 2 R, 2 RBI) led the team with 4 hits, while Sams and 3B Francsico Martinez (2×2, 2B, RBI, 2 BB) each recorded multi-hit games. GENERALS RECAP: The Generals claimed their 2nd win over the Pensacola Blue Wahoos on Tuesday night by the score of 4-2. The victory extended Jackson’s winning streak to 3 games. Pensacola scored in the 1st inning off an RBI double by Brodie Greene. The Generals answered right back in the bottom of the 1st with 2 runs on three hits.Francisco Martinez began the inning with a double to left and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Denny Almonte. Joe Dunigan reached second on a line drive to center and was driven home by a Jesus Sucre single. Jackson scored two more runs in the game, both thanks to solo home runs off RH J.C. Sulbaran (3-4, 4.58). Chih-Hsien Chiang hit his 1st Jackson home run in the 4th inning. Kalian Sams followed up in the 6th inning with his 4th homer of the year. Sams ended the night with 3 hits, the only multi-hit night for Jackson. LH Steve Garrison (3-1, 3.00) pitched 6 innings, giving up seven hits, two runs, two walks, and striking out two. Yoervis Medina was credited with his third hold of the year. Stephen Hensley earned his 2nd save of the year after striking out all three Pensacola batters in the ninth.

GENERALS RECAP: The Generals used a stellar performance by Danny Hultzen to shutout the Pensacola Blue Wahoos 5-0 at Pringles Park Monday. Hultzen tossed 6 shutout innings, allowing 5 hits and striking out five to improve to 5-3. Nick Franklin started the Generals’ offense in the first inning by lining his first of two triples to right field. Denny Almonte then doubled to right and drove in Franklin. Almonte was brought home by a Jesus Sucre single to left. The Generals scored two more runs in the fifth inning on Almonte’s eighth home run of the year. The 2-run shot to right field hit off the scoreboard and expanded the lead to 4-0. Gabriel Noriega got his 10th RBI of the year in the sixth inning when Eric Campbell came in on a line drive to right field.
